Outside the lab, Rongchen enjoys playing video games and watching movies and anime. She is now a doctoral candidate working on a collaborative project with Hughes Lab studying the effects of Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) on myelin repair. She came to the US in 2018 for her PhD study. Rongchen earned her BS in Biotechnology at Wuhan University of Technology and MS in Neurobiology at University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Outside of lab Spencer can be found on a ski slope, buried in a book, or pursuing his interest in science policy. He uses chronically implanted stimulating and recording electrodes, in vivo optogenetics, and markerless kinematic tracking to explore the changes is neural activity and behavior that accompany motor learning. ![]() Cristin Welle where he studies the role of cholinergic signaling in endogenous and VNS-enhanced motor learning. He is currently a doctoral candidate in the lab of Dr. ![]() Spencer earned a BS in Neuroscience and Psychology at Regis University. Dailey is completing her PhD in Neuroscience, and is studying how myelin loss influences neuronal signaling and impairs dexterous behavior, as part of a collaboration with the Hughes Lab.
